I initially found the Australian landscape impossibly vast. The enormous vistas, huge skies, overwhelming scale and unfamiliar terrain. The colours and shapes have taken years to become accustomed to and assimilate into my process. “Cedar Valley" is based on the view from the end of my drive. A view I see every morning as I start my walk, It looks up to Mount Glorious in SE Queensland. A breathtaking view of farmland, bush and range which echoes with recognition of the land of my childhood.
